I have extra long, fine straight hair, so the mids and ends get really dry, while my scalp is greasy. This oil does make my hair really soft, but it strangely just does not make it feel well moisturized, which is what I need on days between washes. I find that I can use more of this product without weighing my hair down, especially if I use it overnight. But I will keep searching for the right oil for my hair.

I recently tried the Redken All Soft Argan-6 Oil with high hopes of achieving deep conditioning for my dry hair. However, my experience with this product was nothing short of disappointing. Upon closer inspection of the ingredients, it became apparent that the oil is mostly silicone-based, rather than being enriched with beneficial ingredients.
While the product claims to provide deep conditioning for dry hair, it was disheartening to discover that the primary ingredient was silicones. Silicones are known for creating a temporary illusion of smoother hair by coating the strands, but they do not provide the nourishment and long-term benefits that natural oils or other quality hair care ingredients do.
Unfortunately, the heavy silicone content in this hair oil left my hair feeling coated and weighed down, rather than providing the nourishing and conditioning effect I was seeking. Instead of enhancing the health of my hair, it merely created a superficial layer that gave a false appearance of smoothness.
I had hoped for an oil enriched with ingredients like Argan oil to truly address the dryness and improve the texture of my hair. However, the heavy reliance on silicones left me feeling like I had wasted my money on a product that failed to deliver genuine results.
In the future, I will be more cautious about examining product ingredients before purchasing. While I appreciate Redken’s reputation, this particular hair oil fell short of my expectations due to its predominantly silicone-based formula. I wouldn’t recommend this product to anyone seeking genuine hair conditioning and nourishment, as it lacks the essential ingredients needed for optimal hair health.

You should always use hair oil to seal in moisture . If you don’t , start ASAP. This oil is light and makes your hair soft and manageable . I use a lot ( bleach damage ), 3 pumps equivalent min, on fine hair and it does not make it limp but soft and manageable . I never cared much for redken until I tried the acid bonding line which is amazing as well.

This has totally changed the game for my hair and it is a winner! I have long, fine, naturally wavy highlighted hair. As much fuss as there has been over the years about argan oil I was NEVER a fan until now; even the “best” ones left my hair looking dull, weighted it down, made my hair lifeless. But, i have always had issues with my hair not being smooth, fuzzy ends, etc. and never found a solution. My stylist used this product on my hair after she dried it at last appointment before I could tell her DON’T use argan oil. But: I was more than pleasantly surprised. I noticed my hair seemed thicker, smoother, more body. It smells good too . . very subtle pleasant scent. I went ahead and bought it and have noticed, consistently, it works the same as when my stylist first used it AND it has saved my hair. My hair has more body, looks smoother, feels heavier and thicker without weighing it down. I do use a very little Redken Anti-Snap every two or three shampoos, but this argan oil in itself is a miracle. I use just a little bit after my hair is mostly dry, put it on my comb or brush, and comb it through. Not a cheap price at face value, but this bottle may last me for years. If you have ANY hesitations or have not had good luck with argan oil before – THIS is definitely worth trying.
