Maison d’Orient Vanilla Musk Perfume Body Oil with a Fresh Powdery Scent (aka. Misk Altahra) Arabian Perfume For Women

I agree with other reviewers that this smells pretty good. Like a vanilla musky kind of scent. It comes with the bigger bottle and then a small purse tube which is nice and was unexpected. I did feel that it left a pretty sticky residue behind where it was applied. It wouldn’t be a huge deal except you kind of have to apply it with your fingers so that’s a little annoying.

This was a heavier, slightly viscous, a little oily, musky scent. A hint of vanilla and some floral notes, it is really hard to describe. It is a little heavy, not a light scent like some perfumes that rely on a lot of chemicals. This does smell more organic. It left more of an oily residue on my skin and took a bit to absorb. The scent in the little tube was different, more light and floral. From the little card that came with it, I imagine they would both be used together to create a layered scent, a more complex smell. This is a perfume I would only wear on occasion, probably when I want to feel more exotic.

This is the scent description hard to find and confusing in the ad way below the photos,- violets, lilies, vanilla, white lotus, white musk, and honey. If you like baby powder scent, this is really close to that, or the baby powder wipes. Has a sharp scent of something that brings me to awful-scented baby wipes. I really wanted this to smell sweeter and less powdery (I don’t care for overly powdery scents) so this is not for me. It has an application wand to apply to your pulse points, which is really nice. Layer with lotion for staying power. Comes with a mini for purse use on the go, which is also a nice thing to have for travel use. I suppose you could carefully refill that vial. The bottle of the larger size is still small enough to pack for travel though. I guess I missed the memo that this is a powdery scent. I give it 4 stars because even though I don’t like it, the scent is fragrant, it lasts for a long time, and it has an applicator and a travel mini. Overall, good size, and set. I’ll probably gift it to someone else.

It also states that you can use it as a base with other spray type fragrance. Once applied, the Vanilla Musk or Musk Tahara has distinct notes of musk, baby powder and flowers. It reminds me of the drugstore fragrance called, Love’s Baby Soft. It is a pleasant fragrance that softens as the day progresses like the majority of fragrances on the market. Since it is a concentrated perfumed body oil, I had expected its initial bold fragrance to last longer. The manufacturer included an additional business card with a QR code to provide additional information on the art of perfume layering. The petite bottle is held in a black velvet drawstring bag with the manufacturer label on the face. In addition, the bag held a sample size piece that is perfect to tuck into a purse or pocket. The bottle is the ideal size to take with you when travelling and can easily tuck into a makeup bag, purse, carry-on, or backpack. This is a pleasant fragrance especially if you are a fan of baby powder prominent scents.
