It opens with a blast of in-your-face spicy honey, yummmmm! Love this. In fact, it’s the ONLY honey fragrance that actually smells realistic (on me, anyway). The honey is here the whole time, too, and only slightly less prominent after the opening. Other notes like tobacco, leather, and wood come up in the early drydown for a gorgeous autumny symphony that makes me very happy. I keep getting whiffs of coffee too. And it lasts forever. Like, still there the next morning even after getting ready for work forever. It’s not overpowering, though, and is fine for the office. It seems like it should be strictly for cold weather, but I’m wearing it today, in August, and it doesn’t feel wrong at all.
It reminds me of Tauer’s L’Air du Desert Marocain, because of the spice, but it’s got the sweetness of honey rather than desert smoke. How many spice fragrances do I really need? Well, that’s one of my all-time favorites and I still bought a full bottle of Honeyed Tobacco & Oud, if that gives you an idea. Maybe this one isn’t *truly* necessary if you’re less of a spice fanatic than I am, and I wouldn’t recommend blind-buying it. Still, 10 out of 10 in all categories as far as I’m concerned.

I bought this product as a gift to a friend after purchasing their sampler set. I kept the sample but sent off this perfume gift to her. This was her experience. To give you background, she is a Baccarat Rouge girl so she can handle strong fragrances. She said this lasted as long as her signature scent and complemented her natural body chemistry perfectly. She got lots of compliments at work. She is still working in person so she has to be careful with the scents she wears on the office. This did not trigger any chats with HR so we can safely mark it as “office-safe.”
My experience with the sample was equally positive. Unlike her, I suffer with severe nasal allergies so there are days when I can’t handle even the safest fragrances. To give you background, I use regular Tide detergent but no fabric softener (Again, allergies). However, I do use fragrant soaps and body washes when my allergies allow it. On the day I tested this, I used a BBW Gingham Gorgeous body wash. This is important because your detergent and soap can change the way your perfume smells. Anyway, I sprayed my pulse points as well as on my clothes and immediately got the awesome fruity opening. As it dried down I got the beautiful jasmine notes and total dry down brought out a powdery musk that made this truly unique. I actually love this unexpected twist. If you’re worried about it being a harsh oud then buy this with confidence that it’s not harsh at all. Strong enough to make a statement but not too loud and scary. A+ on longevity, A+ on allergy friendliness, A+ on office friendliness, A+ on projection. A+ on price.

I started wearing this about a year ago and had constant comments or questions about what cologne I was wearing ….it is an oud and can be strong .. at first I sprayed it on my clothing .. now I wear it on my skin … huge difference in the aroma … better to be sure …

I ordered this because I love the scent of rose in my perfumes and I was not disappointed with Sahara Rose – but I have to add that this is a very heavy scent that was almost overpowering. Literally you could smell it the next day and even the day after that! Having said that if you like exotic perfumes – you will like this one. I used to live in the Middle East and it reminded me of walking through the souk with its silks, gold jewelry and the perfume of sandalwood in the air. I would recommend using it sparingly in the evenings!
