Nice combination, easy to read thermometer with both F and C. I like that it has a lid which just flips up to add water, many kettles have a lid you have to pull off to fill. But it means there can be a couple of drops of condensation dripping off when you first pour, seems like the correct trade off to me

Der Coffee Gator macht auf den ersten Blick einen sehr guten Eindruck. Wertiger Edelstahl, ein praktisches Thermometer sowie ein beinahe tropfsicherer Schwanenhals könnten diesen Kaffeekessel perfektionieren, wären da nicht ein paar andere Patzer.
Zuersteinmal habe ich mich von der Beschreibung irreführen lassen. Im Titel steht nämlich 1.6l, weiter unten in den Details dann 1.2l. Letztlich hat der Kessel tatsächlich 1.6l Fassungsvermögen, man soll diesen jedoch nicht über die Max-Marke befüllen wenn das Wasser gekocht wird. Diese liegt bei 1.2l, was für mich leider zu wenig ist. Natürlich kann man argumentieren, ich hätte die Beschreibung doch besser lesen sollen. Diesen Einwand kann ich jedoch entgegenstellen, dass das Volumen des Kessels quasi irrelevant ist, wenn man es nicht nutzen kann. Somit hat der Kessel hier seinen ersten Stern verloren.
Das erste und zweite Mal ist beim Kochen ein sehr unangenehmer, starker Geruch aufgetreten, welcher mich an Lötzinn erinnert hat. Mir ist klar, dass das produktionsbedingt ist und sich kaum vermeiden lässt. Allerdings ist bei mir der Geruch auch nach einigen Kochvorgängen für Teewasser nicht komplett verschwunden. Hier hat der Kessel seinen zweiten Stern verloren.
Zuletzt habe ich wohl ein Exemplar erwischt, bei dem das Kondenswasser welches sich an der Unterseite des Deckels sammelt beim Ausgießen nach vorne läuft und aus dem schmalen Schlitz zwischen Deckel und Kessel tropft. Wie auch bereits andere Rezensionen beschrieben haben ist dieses Wasser heiß. Es ist natürlich nicht viel heißes Wasser, aber genug um sich leicht zu verbrennen.
Bei vielen Exemplaren scheint dieses Problem nicht aufzutreten, wie die Antworten auf meine Anfrage im Kunden-Fragenbereich ergeben haben. Bei tropft es regelmäßig, weswegen ich auch hier erneut einen Stern abziehe.
Fazit: Obwohl der Coffee Gator ein an sich sehr hochwertiger Kaffeekessel ist kann ich diesen nicht empfehlen, da es schlicht zu viele Probleme gibt die bei einem Kaffeekessel dieser Preisklasse eigentlich nicht auftreten sollten. Ich werde den Kessel wohl nicht behalten und bei nächster Gelegenheit zurückschicken.

I’ve only been using this for a week. So far, I’m happy. For whatever reason this makes a lot of noise while heating up on my induction cooktop. Like a tiny microphone near all the little bubbles popping. At first I thought that there was water under it that was boiling away, but nope.
I wish the handle matched the contour of the container. It’s slightly awkward to hold at that angle. Also, I wish you could hang it up, but again, the angle of the handle doesn’t really allow for that.
If something breaks, I’ll update the review, but as of right now, I feel like it will be around for a while.

Nice quality and packing box. Would be a nice gift. It seems like it would last a long time. Unfortunately, my BF wanted a whistling kettle, he didn’t want to stand around and wait until the water boiled. Per the instructions, you have to watch it and remove from heat immediately. I returned right away.

Having boiling water in a kettle is always a little interesting for my wife. She loves this things and loves brewing great cups of coffee with it. The control of the pour and comfort in the hand is fantastic.

I first bought the hario buono kettle, locally but, it didn’t have a thermometer lid like the coffee gator kettle has. There are 2 issues with this kettle, firstly water got trapped into the thermometer lid (coffee gator is sending me a replacement lid) and secondly, the inside of the kettle has this chemical smell that won’t go away. I have prepped the kettle as per the instructions that were given, boiling water in it twice the first day i received it. The smell was still there after prepping it so, I thought the odor would go away after using it for a while but, that wasn’t the case. So, then I did the prep (fill kettle with water and bring to a boil, then empty kettle) twice more but, this time I poured more water into the kettle; the smell still didn’t go away. I gave up and, threw away the kettle. If you buy this kettle please make sure to smell the inside of it and that it doesn’t have a chemical odor to it.
Update – October 30th
They sent me a new kettle with a new thermometer lid and this kettle is odorless. The thermometer encasing has no water or steam stuck inside of it after cleaning and using. So far so good.

I got this over an electric because I wanted to be able to fill it with a single cup’s worth of water. Electric kettles have a minimum water level that you must meet, so this works better for that. So far it’s worked fairly well.
Only con is you have to remove the kettle slightly before the temperature is reached, as it will increase slightly after removing the kettle from the stovetop.
Overall, it’s effective. Is it the Lamborghini of kettles? No, but it’s a decent, acceptably priced kettle. If you don’t have a kettle that gives you a specific temperature, this will make a big difference.
Edit: Also, this kettle works with induction stovetops.

Brought this kettle at the end of April, it’s used 3 or 4 times a week. Only once a day, in the morning. And it’s now sprung a leak around the bottle seal. Would have expected it to last much longer considering it’s use. Other than that, it’s great. Perfect for making coffee, great spout and handle

I ordered this specifically for use with my AeroPress and it is fantastic. I love the smaller size, the thermometer in the top and the very perfect pour with a handle that stays cool. It may seem silly to get excited about a kettle, but this was definitely value for money and it looks great. Zero regrets.

4 star because i’m suspicious of thermometer when it says 205 when put a instant read thermometer in reads 190 so quite a few cups for lack of better words were sour because before I was done with brewing it is below recommended temp. Right when the water goes from simmering to a good Boil the instant read says 212 so I think it is good. So now just bring it to boil and waits for 30 sec and start brew. Other than that the pot is nice in all regards. Handle, control, quality, price. Expectation for thermometer may have been to high. I brew 16 ozs at a time, use melitta, maxwell ground, am new to pour over. The coffee has great, robust, depth of flavor. Next step grind, and brew, lol like coffee
