It takes some getting used to, after years of minty toothpaste, but I do like ginger so flavour wise it’s fine. Does it help? Unsure. My teeth are good condition but I do suffer badly with sensitivity, this may have eased it a little. I have bought a second tube anyway whilst it’s on offer because it’s really expensive for a toothpaste.

I just tried this toothpaste and OMG it is so good! I’m autistic and all of my life I always suffered from mint toothpaste because my mouth and tongue are very sensitive to very strong mint and most adult toothpaste are mint so it’s very hard finding toothpaste without any mint at all, even with toothpaste said “sensitive” the mint burns me badly. So I got this in hopes I can at least enjoy brushing my teeth without being in pain anymore and to my surprise this toothpaste actually taste like it said it would and it doesn’t burn you even after rinsing your mouth! And the best part is that it’s nontoxic too so I don’t have to worry about swallowing the paste while rinsing! I’m definitely putting this as my number 1 toothpaste to buy!

I started using this and then sometimes, before I go to bed, I would use a bentonite clay toothpaste.

Prior to this, my teeth were getting fairly sensitive. After using these two pastes, my teeth are significantly less sensitive. And also, my last dental x-rays showed very dense bright teeth.

I actually think the bentonite clay toothpaste (brand is Redmond Earthpaste) was more significant in reducing tooth sensitivity, but I expect the combo was very beneficial. This one is probably a bit better for breath though as bentonite clay tastes like dirt… because it is dirt!

As mentioned, while this amount of Boka is pricey for a little tube, it is actually a good deal considering the recommended amount is a “pea” sized dab on your tooth brush. If you do it like that, it goes a long way and is not uneconomical compared to run of the mill fluoride toothpastes.

Switched to this toothpaste over a year ago and seen great changes, would not use anything else now. although it’s pricey it’s definitely worth it

I’m currently in my first trimester of pregnancy and brushing my teeth has been a horrible experience. The minty fresh toothpaste I once loved, no longer sit well with me. I was gagging and eventually threw up after brushing my teeth (morning and night). Which is counterproductive, then I’d have to brush again.
I was in search of a toothpaste that will leave my teeth feeling clean. This has been very helpful! When I first got it I was even able to brush my teeth twice for good measure. It doesn’t foam up like regular toothpaste but it got the job done, I’m also not sure about the claim that it whitens teeth. I purely got it so I can clean my teeth. The ginger taste is faint, but if you’re sensitive or do not like the taste of ginger it may not be the toothpaste for you.

I’m typically a boring mint person that always reaches for Colgate Optic White Or Crest. After I had a couple fillings fixed, my teeth were really sensitive for a good two months. I figured it was my whitening toothpaste making it worse, so I opted for Boka after hearing positive reviews about it. While I can’t say it has whitened my teeth further, it has eliminated my sensitivity within days of using it! I am shocked. This is my second purchase and I’m on my third tube. So far, I’m loving this brand! Not a fan of the ginger flavor, but the Ela Mint is a very faint mint flavor. The Orange Creamsicle flavor tastes just like the popsicle! So yummy! I say take the plunge and try this brand out! I will be making this brand a staple in my home from now on. Love it!

LOVE this toothpaste and love that it remineralises and whitens your teeth despite it being fluoride free and made of natural ingredients. It also has a very pleasant taste. I floss and tongue scrape and rinse first and then brush using this toothpaste which I don’t rinse away as I wish for it to stay on my teeth as long as possible for remineralisation and whitening purposes. Well worth the additional expense.

I mainly got this for my super picky autistic son. He used to only use Tom’s Orange Mango toothpaste but that had fluoride. I recently discovered from a dentist that there is an ingredient in most toothpastes (sodium lauryl sulfate) that contributes to canker sores in the mouth. My son would get painful, large canker sores pretty often and there is really no treatment for them except waiting for them to heal on their own. In the meantime he would be miserable and sometimes refuse to eat because they were so painful. Luckily, this Boca toothpaste does not have the ingredient and it has cut back on his canker sores significantly. That alone makes this toothpaste worth the price for us. I also worry about cavities as he has to be put under general anesthesia just to get a cavity filled. My son takes after me and has ‘soft teeth’ that gets cavities easily. He has been using Boca for the past 6 months and his last check up was great with no recent cavity formation. I also love that he is able to swallow this toothpaste with no issues. He does not spit after brushing and I had to use a very small amount of the Tom’s toothpaste because of that. I can now put a decent amount of toothpaste on his toothbrush without worries. The only issue I have is that the toothpaste says it whitens teeth but I have not seen that with my son. The other benefits he has obtained outweigh this small issue. I agree with others that the cap could use some work. I can’t close it completely no matter how hard I press on it. This tends to dry out the toothpaste at the opening of the cap and it gets clumpy. I hope the company looks into fixing the cap issue.

    Update: 06/23/2023
I’m not that much of a fan of the Cinnamint. I think I was lead on to think it would taste like cinnamon. It tastes like cloves. Nothing is wrong with cloves, but it was not what I expected going by the flavor’s name. I use these toothpastes exclusively.

Update: 05/15/2023. I’ve been using mainly Boka toothpaste since Oct of last year. I went through a stage of lowering my sugar intake and everything started tasting too sweet. You know how when you eat a perfectly ripe apple and it will taste sweet. Then you eat an apple pie and its even sweeter. If you go back and take another bite of the apple, it wont taste as sweet anymore. Well, I got rid of all the sweets and the Coco Ginger and Lemon Lavender became way too sweet for me. For a short stint, I went back to Sensodyne because I had it at home already. Then I eventually switched back to the Boka and tried the Ela Mint. Before making the switch back to Boka, I tried the Elims toothpaste. It wasn’t sweet. Unfortunately, it taste like mild soap and doesn’t clean very well.

Ela Mint will be a great introduction to anyone just starting hydroxyapatite toothpaste. It tastes pretty much like a regular mint flavor, and I think it cleans the best out of the 3 flavors I’ve tried. My teeth just feel smoother. It was also nice to not have an overly sweet toothpaste.

The Ela Mint toothpaste tube that shipped came in perfect unlike the other two flavor. It was not covered in scuff marks nor looked like it was trampled over by an elephant. I’m not sure why this flavor is treated so different.

Also, I haven’t had a cavity in years since I found out the wonders of floss. I’m going to exclude the small one that started when I went through chemo at the start of the pandemic. So roughly the 6 months (I’m minusing the Sensodyne time)of using this toothpaste, I haven’t had any cavities nor gingivitis at my cleanings. I can’t say that my teeth look whiter though. I am a coffee drinker. I use to smoke spliffs and drink coffee and I felt my teeth look whiter back then. In fact, people would comment on how white my teeth looked. However, I use to oil pull and just brush with a slurry of baking soda. I’ll update again, once I quit coffee to see if this type of toothpaste makes a difference.

Ok, we all know what Boka toothpaste is suppose to do. It’s suppose to help remineralize the teeth with nano-hydroxyapatite, and then there are a whole heap of benefits that come with that. Since no one is going to be able to see the benefits right away, let’s talk about things I can evaluate in the here and now.

First, let’s talk about the taste. It actually tastes like sweet coconut oil and ginger. It has a health food and green living vibe to its flavor. It’s not bad, but I was surprised it seemed kind of herbally. The flavor is mild and enjoyable. My mouth tasted nice after spitting it out. I don’t think it messes with the flavor of food right afterwards.

Second, the paste turns to liquid in the mouth. There is no foam. I needed more than a pea size to feel like I adequately covered all of my teeth with it.

Since I switched my toothbrush and floss, my teeth typically feel really clean after brushing. My teeth continued to feel clean after using this one. It’s cleaning capabilities are still the same as others. For those worried about the abrasive used in this toothpaste, ask for the RDA ranking of this paste. Even Sensodyne Pronamel uses hydrated silica and it’s rda rating is below 40 for all but the whitening ones.

Lastly, this felt good in the mouth. There was no burning. My tongue also didn’t feel numb afterwards.

Overall, it’s a decent toothpaste at face value. It is very crunchy-granola in its brand values, as well as its flavor. What it purports to do makes it seem great, but it’s too early to see those benefits. I’d just have to take their word for it.

Edit: I recently purchased the Lemon Lavender flavor off of Target because they are out of stock on the Boka website. If you thought the tubes off of Amazon looked streaked up and dirty, the Target ones have them beat. Oh my, my tube looks beat up. This is a sweet and soft flavor that dissipates to the flavor of nothing. It reminds me of lemon short bread cookies with a hint of lavender, but very soft. It’s definitely not as sweet and intense like Tanner’s Tasty Paste in Vanilla Bling, but it still tastes good. I can see children liking the Lemon Lavender flavor much more than the Coco Ginger.

Good toothpaste, the ingredients are excellent. I actually got some pure powder of the tooth remineralising stuff to rub into my teeth as well, which has definitely helped decrease my tooth pain significantly, so that’s something to try. The amount of the ingredient in this toothpaste isn’t that high, but nevertheless it’s a pleasant toothpaste with a good taste that does the job. I just wish it wasn’t quite so expensive. Now that I have the powder, I’ll just use that instead along with euthymol which is another great toothpaste but far cheaper (which also doesn’t have flouride). If you have teeth problems make sure you get enough sunlight on your skin, vitamin D is essential for good teeth. (Actual sunlight, not synthetic vitamin D).
